    Dealer Notes

Lamborghini Paramus is pleased to present our 2018 Porsche 911 Boxster S. With the new 982-generation, the marketing designation of the Boxster was changed to Porsche 718, a nod to Porsche's racing heritage that won the Targa Florio race in 1959 and 1960. Because the 718 Boxster has lost two cylinders, going from a naturally aspirated flat-6 engine to a turbocharged flat-4 engine, the name is meant to evoke a racing series that was won by a light car which outmaneuvered the cars with more powerful engines. The timeline of the 718 release started in 2016, with first model availability scheduled for June. The Boxster S model's turbocharger utilizes Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) technology. The exterior of the 718 Boxster is very similar to the third generation, in fact more of an evolution than a redesign. The most notable changes are to the rear of the car, which now has a long black-trim bar across the rear connecting the two taillights. The headlights and bumper are also heavily reworked. On the sides, the mirrors have been redesigned, taking hue from the Sport Design mirrors on the GT3. The interior remains very similar to the 981 Boxster and the 991.2 generation of the Porsche 911. The main change is the new PCM 4.0 infotainment system, which replaces the PCM 3.1. The steering wheel comes with a mode selector switch that includes a selection of Sports and Sports Plus driving modes, resulting in snappier throttle response at the cost of fuel efficiency. Overall, the most prominent design features of the 981 Boxster remain, including large air induction ports on the side, and the prominent horizontal aluminum piece used for adding oil and coolant in the trunk. Despite the loss of two cylinders, the 718 Boxster are mechanically superior to the 981 model; acceleration is faster and steering is improved according to Top Gear and Motor Trend. The 718 was declared Motor Trend's 2nd best Drivers car in 2017, which praised the car's handling and throttle response. Our car comes equipped with:

    • constantly being complimented

I have owned numerous luxury, sports and performance cars but none that draw the attention of this car. when out driving it is always complimented. Taking it on Wisconsin's rural roads is exhilarating. You don't have to go top end to have a ball driving this car. Taking corners and accelerating from them is fabulous. Make sure you have everything set before heading out as you will soon be in total attention mode. The car needs you to keep it on track.
    • An incredible car, nothing lis like a Porsche.

I pick this car up at the factory in Stuttgart, drove the Swiss Alps and brought it home. The car has been flawless for 6 years. I have experienced it on the track and down the California coast and the car always amazes me at it's comfort, performance and reliably. Porsches are more expensive to service but they are worth it. Nothing drives like a Porsche! The naturally aspirated engine will soon be gone and the sound of this engine reving to 8,000 is magic. The Only reason I am selling it is because I am buying the new 718 Spyder.
    • Best vehicle I have ever owned

My 1998 Ford Mustang had finally had it after 18 years in the Arizona heat. The Boxster is the best car I have ever owned. The superior engineering is evident every time I get into the car. The ride, the performance, and the fun are top notch. While it is rated 20 MPG city, I am getting over 23 by not driving it like I am in a race. The engine is so powerful, this is the first stick I have driven where I cannot tell when to shift by feel alone because the engine can handle much higher speeds at each gear than optimal. A few small nits: there is a combined passenger weight limit (recommended) of 400 pounds) which I did not see or read about before I purchased the car), the temperature control fan is always on when I turn on the vehicle even if I had it off (this is for the standard equipment) and the key is set up so that it is hard to put it on a key ring without blocking access to the key used to get into the glove compartment. Every review I read before I bought this said it was a fun car to drive and my experiences have been consistent with those reviews.
