    Dealer Notes

Lamborghini Paramus is pleased to present our 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The 991 GT2 RS was initially unveiled at the Xbox 2017 E3 briefing along with the announcement of the Forza Motorsport 7 video game where it was revealed as the cover car as well as being included as a playable vehicle. The car was officially launched by Porsche at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The 991 GT2 RS is powered by a 3.8 L twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine that has a maximum power output of 691 hp at 7,000 rpm and 553 lbâ‹…ft of torque, making it the most powerful production 911 variant ever built. Unlike the previous GT2 versions, this car is fitted with a 7-speed PDK transmission to handle the excessive torque produced from the engine. Porsche claims that the car will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds, and has a top speed of 211 mph. The car has a roof made of magnesium, front lid, front and rear wings and boot lid made of carbon-fiber, front and rear apron made of lightweight polyurethane, rear and side windows made of polycarbonate and an exhaust system made of titanium. Porsche claims that the car has a wet weight of 3,241 lb. A Weissach package option is available, which reduces weight by 66 lb, courtesy of the additional use of carbon-fiber and titanium parts. This includes the roof, the anti-roll bars, and the coupling rods on both axles being made out of carbon-fiber, while the roll cage is made from titanium. The package also includes a set of magnesium wheels. The car was available in the United States from early 2018. A production run of 1,000 units was planned. The production run of the GT2 RS was to end by February 2019 but four units were lost in transit to Brazil due to the sinking of the ship Grande America on which the cars were on board in March 2019. Porsche decided to restart production to reproduce the lost cars. In late September 2017, the 911 GT2 RS driven by Porsche test driver Lars Kern set a 6:47.3 minute lap time around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, averaging a speed of 114.40 mph. This made it the fastest production car lap time recorded on the track at the time. In 2018, Warren Luff at the wheel of the GT2 RS (without the Weissach package) set the fastest production lap record at The Bend Motorsport Park with a lap time of 3:24.079 minutes around the 7.77 km GT layout. On 25 October 2018, a 6:40.33 minute lap time around the Nürburgring Nordschleife was set by Porsche test driver Lars Kern in a 911 GT2 RS MR prepared by Porsche-owned Manthey Racing, surpassing the previous record holder, an unmodified Lamborghini Aventador SVJ that dethroned the GT2 RS of its record during July 2018. In 2019 Porsche set further production lap records with the car at various North American circuits â€" 1:24.88 minutes at Road Atlanta, 2:15.17 minutes at Road America and 1:22.36 minutes at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. • the C2 is really a GT...

I've been driving Porsche's for over forty years and have owned numerous variants. Bought this 2013 991 used after selling my trouble free 997 with 103k miles on it. The sticker on this base 991 was 125k, it had everything on it including my beloved ducktail. It had 13k miles on it... I paid 68k. It now has 19k miles hence the review. First, the car is much more of a cruiser, as in GT. Not as visceral as the 997 or 993 but more refined. Quick and nimble but you're still firmly planted in all driving situations... The interior is more in keeping with a pricey sports car vs. the 997. One complaint on the 2013, no back up camera. Seats, radio, auto windscreen, its a ragtop, all well done. I've road tripped this car over 2500 miles driving seven hours on the long days... no real driver fatigue and a pleasure to drive... No mechanical issues... most Porsches don't break, although I had a 996 C4 that suffered the dreaded ims bearing... but no fear here. Find a low mileage used 991... and enjoy the ride

Owning the car that you want and being able to take it out when you want to clear your head is a 911 for me. I have owned a lot of different vehicles over the years and they were all practical vehicles...some were luxurious while others were work focused. I read the reviews and how impractical that the 911 Targa is viewed in regards to the coupes but for me the aesthetics alone are worth any sacrifices others may think are being made with a drop top. But the fun of running hard through the mountain roads around here allow me to drive as fast as anyone can safely and with all wheel drive the confidence in sticking is ideal. My car is naturally aspirated and no I don’t have a Sport exhaust system but it makes plenty of great acoustics as is especially in the higher RPM range. I continue to keep my eye on the next generation and of course on the Turbo S model but it will truly be hard for me to walk away from this car. The quality, the 400hp with the Sport Chrono package just seems to satisfy me just fine. My advice is simply get the one that makes you happy and when you find it then take time and write a genuine review. Everybody else is just expressing their opinion.

I purchased a new 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet and have loved every second of ownership! It's handling, style and performance is awesome. Driving along the ocean with the top down is pure heaven. It's been trouble free since day 1, with all scheduled maintenance performed by Porsche. It is definitely not the lowest cost of ownership, but it's a Porsche!!!
