1967 Porsche 911 R

We are proud to present our fully restored 1967 Porsche 911 R Tribute, meticulously built in-house by Gaswerks Garage. The 911R is regarded as the lightest, purest, and most valuable early 911 ever produced, with only 4 factory prototypes and 20 production examples built. Original 911R models now command upwards of $1.2MM. This tribute faithfully honors that legacy.


This project began with an original, rust-free 911 chassis finished in correct Light Ivory (Paint Code 6604 per original C.O.A.) over black interior. The donor car was exceptionally solid with ZERO rust or body issues, allowing this build to retain its original factory Light Ivory paint. Because the body was so well preserved, no repaint was required a rare and significant detail in an early 911 restoration.


Gaswerks Garage performed a complete, ground-up, nut-and-bolt restoration. Every mechanical and structural component was removed, refinished, rebuilt, or replaced. The car underwent a full rotisserie restoration with the drivetrain, suspension, braking, and fuel systems completely rebuilt in-house. The undercarriage is fully detailed to show-quality standards. Every stage of the teardown and rebuild was completed on-site by our team at Gaswerks Garage.


The engine, transmission, suspension, braking system, wiring, and fuel systems were rebuilt to OEM specification with period-correct 911R performance enhancements. The result is a lightweight, purpose-built drivers car weighing approximately 1,850 pounds and producing over 200 horsepower from its 2.0L twin-plug engine.


ENGINE:
Fully rebuilt 2.0L twin plug with mag case upgrades, dowel-pinned case halves, oil bypass modification, Time-Sert cylinder head studs and 8mm case studs, line-bored case, deck height checked, coated rod bearings, 3.2 Carrera oil pump, Pauter rods, JE pistons, Elgin camshafts, twin plug heads, titanium valve springs, new intake and exhaust valves, high performance timing chains, Viton gaskets and seals, Magneti Marelli twin plug distributor, 46mm PMO carburetors, and fiberglass amber shroud.


TRANSMISSION & CHASSIS:
Rebuilt transmission with posi unit, lightweight flywheel, performance clutch kit, rebuilt axles and CV joints, new engine mounts, new suspension bushings, new Koni shocks and struts, new aluminum front suspension beam, new wheel bearings front and rear, and complete new brake system including master cylinder, lines, rotors, calipers, pads, and stainless brake hoses. Aligned and corner balanced.


New wiring harness, 100L fuel tank with matching sending unit, dual Bendix fuel pumps, new oil tank and lines, Optima battery and alternator, Bosch headlights, new windshield and seal, new rear window, R quarter windows, gear reduction starter, and all new clutch, speedometer, battery, and accelerator cables.


INTERIOR:
Lightweight seats with corduroy inserts, Britax vintage seat belts, 911R steering wheel, original date-coded green face gauges with 10K tach, refinished leather dashboard, new sun visors, new door panels with original door pulls, vintage 4-point roll bar, updated shifter with new coupler, and rebuilt pedal assembly with bronze bushings.


WHEELS & TIRES:
15x6 Fuchs wheels wrapped in Pirelli CN36 tires.
