ABOUT THIS VEHICLE
Built from 1998 to 2003 under the internal designation E52, the Z8 was developed as a contemporary homage to the legendary BMW 507. Its design, led by Henrik Fisker under BMWs design chief Chris Bangle, perfectly blends retro inspiration with advanced engineering. From its long sculpted hood and side gills to its perfectly proportioned rear haunches, the Z8 immediately established itself as a future classic upon release.
Power comes from BMW Motorsports 4.9 liter S62 V8, shared with the BMW M5. Producing 400 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, this naturally aspirated engine is paired to a precise 6-speed manual transmission. Mounted behind the front axle for ideal 50/50 weight distribution, the Z8 delivers exceptional balance and performance, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 4.2 seconds. Period testing showed it rivaled and even outperformed the Ferrari 360 Modena in acceleration, braking, and handling. Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph, with true capability approaching 180 mph.
Engineered with an all aluminum space frame and aluminum body panels, the Z8 showcases advanced lightweight construction. Distinctive neon tail lamps and turn signals illuminate faster than conventional bulbs and were designed for long-term durability. Every Z8 was delivered with a factory color-matched hardtop designed from inception to complement the cars styling.
Our Z8 is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over Black leather, one of the most timeless and desirable specifications. Exterior features include Xenon headlights, headlight washer jets, heated power chrome mirrors, signature twin kidney grille with side gills, body-colored hardtop, and staggered 18 inch Z8 specific 10 spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin reflects BMWs minimalist driver-focused philosophy. The center-mounted instrument cluster, angled toward the driver, provides an unobstructed view over the hood. Black leather heated sport seats, a leather wrapped 3 spoke aluminum steering wheel with body colored center cap, aluminum control knobs, and body colored center console and dash create a cohesive and purposeful interior.
Additional equipment includes navigation, cruise control, Harmon Kardon sound system with 6 disc CD changer, power telescoping steering column with tilt, tire pressure monitoring system, power windows, manual air conditioning, auto dimming rearview mirror, and dual cup holders.
Mechanically, our Z8 features dynamic throttle control with sport and comfort modes, limited slip differential, rear wheel drive, strut type front suspension, four link rear suspension, ventilated four wheel disc brakes with dynamic brake control, power rack and pinion steering, and dual polished exhaust outlets that deliver a refined yet unmistakable V8 sound.
Further enhancing its collectability, our Z8 is accompanied by its original owners manuals, second set of fog lights, factory first aid kit, battery tender, complete tool kit, fitted car cover, original Motorola StarTAC cell phone with charger, factory hardtop, and hardtop removal tool. These highly sought after original accessories significantly add to the cars authenticity and long term value.
BMW committed to maintaining a 50 year parts supply for the Z8, reinforcing its significance within the brands heritage. Hand finished and produced in limited numbers, the Z8 remains one of BMWs most iconic halo cars.
The BMW Z8 is more than a roadster. It is a design statement, a motorsport derived performance machine, and a blue chip modern collectible that continues to command admiration worldwide.
